Description

Designed by Swoon, made by us. With a shared commitment to exceptional design and quality, we've collaborated to create an exclusive furniture collection for the modern home. Crafted from wood, the Franklin TV stand uses marquetry techniques to create a tactile, geometric facade. The cupboard doors have been cut at angles and then reassembled in a tessellated design that plays with light and shadows to highlight the variety of its natural wood grains. Providing additional storage space, the drawers and flap-down compartment are designed with a contrasting smooth facade and accented with brass hexagonal-shaped handles. What's more, two cable holes at the rear ensure that you can keep media cables neatly organised. Want to see it first? You may want to see and get a feel for the furniture in one of our shops before ordering. We'll be able to tell you where the range you'd like to view is on display.

Our Stylist Says

I love this piece for its mid-century modern vibe, which makes it a versatile addition to both contemporary and retro-inspired interiors. Its warm wooden tone and clean lines bring a sense of understated elegance without feeling fussy. It works really well in open-plan living spaces or in homes where you want to create a relaxed, inviting feel. Practically, it’s great for hiding away electronic clutter, as the drawers offer useful storage while the top provides plenty of space for your TV and decorative accessories. To style it smartly, consider layering it with some art or framed photos above and adding smaller tactile objects like ceramics or books on top. It’s a timeless piece that can anchor a living room with minimal effort, and its simple silhouette allows for flexibility in a range of interior styles.

About John Lewis

Founded in 1864, John Lewis is a trusted and beloved brand where you can find a diverse range of furniture for every style and budget, alongside finding the perfect item that reflects your personal taste.

A Legacy of Innovation and Inclusion

John Lewis started as a small shop on London's Oxford Street in 1864. Today, it's part of a bigger family called the John Lewis Partnership, which also includes Waitrose stores.

What makes them special is that they're owned by their employees, known as 'Partners'. The idea, from the beginning, was to give everyone a say in how the business was run. With over 74,000 Partners (employees) at the heart of its operations, the essence of John Lewis's vision, from over a century ago, still echoes today being the largest employee-owned venture.

Adapting to Changing Times

Like many stores, John Lewis has had to change with the times. They've closed some shops but have grown their online business a lot, especially when more people started shopping online during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Their history is filled with key moments, like buying Peter Jones in 1905, adding Waitrose in 1937, and starting their website in 2001. They've always tried to adapt and stay relevant.

Commitment to a Greater Purpose

John Lewis believes in doing good and making the world a better place. This is seen in the way they treat their employees and customers. For example, in 2021, they were the first big UK store to give parents six months paid leave when they have a baby and two weeks paid leave if they lose a pregnancy. They've been around for over a century and always aim to do the right thing by everyone.
