Description

Made in the UK, this slim divan base is constructed from responsibly sourced, FSC Certified softwood and sits on low, splayed legs for a modern look. We've upholstered it in a soft fabric that's woven from durable fibres and recycled materials. Vegan Certified, the recyclable fabric also features Aquaclean technology, so it's low maintenance and easy to care for. Looking for a new mattress? Shop our range of mattresses. Want to see it first? You may want to see and get a feel for the furniture in one of our shops before ordering. We'll be able to tell you where the range you'd like to view is on display.

Our Stylist Says

I love this divan base for its sleek, minimalist design and eco-friendly FSC-certified softwood construction, making it a practical yet stylish choice for various interiors. It works particularly well in contemporary, Scandi, or mid-century inspired spaces where clean lines and understated elegance are key. To style around it, consider adding layered textiles such as textured throws or statement cushions to introduce colour and warmth. Because of its neutral tone, it pairs effortlessly with both bold and muted colour schemes, and its low profile makes it versatile for small or open-plan bedrooms. Practical tips include selecting a headboard to create a focal point or using bedside tables with contrasting materials to make the base stand out in your overall scheme.

About John Lewis

Founded in 1864, John Lewis is a trusted and beloved brand where you can find a diverse range of furniture for every style and budget, alongside finding the perfect item that reflects your personal taste.

A Legacy of Innovation and Inclusion

John Lewis started as a small shop on London's Oxford Street in 1864. Today, it's part of a bigger family called the John Lewis Partnership, which also includes Waitrose stores.

What makes them special is that they're owned by their employees, known as 'Partners'. The idea, from the beginning, was to give everyone a say in how the business was run. With over 74,000 Partners (employees) at the heart of its operations, the essence of John Lewis's vision, from over a century ago, still echoes today being the largest employee-owned venture.

Adapting to Changing Times

Like many stores, John Lewis has had to change with the times. They've closed some shops but have grown their online business a lot, especially when more people started shopping online during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Their history is filled with key moments, like buying Peter Jones in 1905, adding Waitrose in 1937, and starting their website in 2001. They've always tried to adapt and stay relevant.

Commitment to a Greater Purpose

John Lewis believes in doing good and making the world a better place. This is seen in the way they treat their employees and customers. For example, in 2021, they were the first big UK store to give parents six months paid leave when they have a baby and two weeks paid leave if they lose a pregnancy. They've been around for over a century and always aim to do the right thing by everyone.
