Description

We've updated our Simone bar chair and upholstered it in a new, faux PU leather that's OEKO-TEX® certified and has a high-quality abrasion resistance. This makes it even better for busy households, as it's hard-wearing and easy to wipe clean. The seat is foam-filled for comfort and the painted frame is made from responsibly-sourced, sturdy beech wood. It's a great choice for informal seating at your kitchen island or breakfast bar. About our manufacturing partner Our manufacturing factory is based in Italy, in a district where chairs have been manufactured since the end of 1800. It's among very few in the world who monitor their production process following an end-to-end cycle, that's completed according to strict FSC certification. This ensures the chair is responsibly made, from cutting the trunk to the finished product. By choosing this product you are supporting responsible management of the world's forests. The Forest Stewardship Council® (FSC®) is a global, not-for-profit organisation that helps take care of forests and the people and wildlife that call them home. To learn more, visit www.fsc.org. Want to see it first? You may want to see and get a feel for the furniture in one of our shops before ordering. We'll be able to tell you where the range you'd like to view is on display.

Our Stylist Says

I love this bar stool for its versatile, modern appeal and its muted dark grey faux leather, which adds a sophisticated touch without overpowering a space. Its FSC-certified Beech wood frame ensures durability and eco-friendliness, making it a practical choice for sustainable interiors. It works particularly well in contemporary kitchens, breakfast bars, or informal dining areas, where a clean, streamlined look is desired. For styling, consider pairing it with matching or contrasting tones - such as marble or wooden work surfaces and textured textiles - to create a balanced and inviting vibe. A good tip is to use it alongside a high table or island, and it can be easily dressed up with cushions or throws for extra comfort and visual interest.

About John Lewis

Founded in 1864, John Lewis is a trusted and beloved brand where you can find a diverse range of furniture for every style and budget, alongside finding the perfect item that reflects your personal taste.

A Legacy of Innovation and Inclusion

John Lewis started as a small shop on London's Oxford Street in 1864. Today, it's part of a bigger family called the John Lewis Partnership, which also includes Waitrose stores.

What makes them special is that they're owned by their employees, known as 'Partners'. The idea, from the beginning, was to give everyone a say in how the business was run. With over 74,000 Partners (employees) at the heart of its operations, the essence of John Lewis's vision, from over a century ago, still echoes today being the largest employee-owned venture.

Adapting to Changing Times

Like many stores, John Lewis has had to change with the times. They've closed some shops but have grown their online business a lot, especially when more people started shopping online during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Their history is filled with key moments, like buying Peter Jones in 1905, adding Waitrose in 1937, and starting their website in 2001. They've always tried to adapt and stay relevant.

Commitment to a Greater Purpose

John Lewis believes in doing good and making the world a better place. This is seen in the way they treat their employees and customers. For example, in 2021, they were the first big UK store to give parents six months paid leave when they have a baby and two weeks paid leave if they lose a pregnancy. They've been around for over a century and always aim to do the right thing by everyone.
