Description

We've designed our Seek chairs with comfort in mind. Built from high-quality and responsibly-sourced materials, the height and gentle slope of the curved backrest will keep your back well-supported, while the seat is wide and deep with a plush, foam filling. Together, this makes the chair slightly larger than conventional dining chairs and suitable for hours of continual use, whether you're working or enjoying a long dinner party. Supplied as pair, we've upholstered these chairs in supple faux leather for a premium finish that's easy to wipe clean. The legs are made from FSC-Certified beech wood and are coated in a lacquer for durability. About our manufacturing partner This chair is FSC-certified. Our manufacturing factory is based in Italy, in a district where chairs have been manufactured since the end of 1800. It's among very few in the world who monitor their production process following an end-to-end cycle, that's completed according to strict FSC certification. This ensures the chair is responsibly made, from cutting the trunk to the finished product. Want to see it first? You may want to see and get a feel for the furniture in one of our shops before ordering. We'll be able to tell you where the range you'd like to view is on display.

Our Stylist Says

I love these John Lewis & Partners Seek faux leather dining chairs for their clean, timeless design and neutral stone hue, making them versatile for a range of interiors. They work particularly well in modern, Scandinavian, or Minimalist schemes, but their understated style can also balance rustic or industrial settings. Practical styling tips include pairing them with a contemporary wooden or glass dining table and adding textured textiles like knitted throws or patterned cushions to soften the look. Their FSC-certified beech frames add an eco-friendly aspect, and their faux leather upholstery ensures easy maintenance-ideal for everyday dining areas. Overall, they provide a sophisticated yet practical update to any dining space.

About John Lewis

Founded in 1864, John Lewis is a trusted and beloved brand where you can find a diverse range of furniture for every style and budget, alongside finding the perfect item that reflects your personal taste.

A Legacy of Innovation and Inclusion

John Lewis started as a small shop on London's Oxford Street in 1864. Today, it's part of a bigger family called the John Lewis Partnership, which also includes Waitrose stores.

What makes them special is that they're owned by their employees, known as 'Partners'. The idea, from the beginning, was to give everyone a say in how the business was run. With over 74,000 Partners (employees) at the heart of its operations, the essence of John Lewis's vision, from over a century ago, still echoes today being the largest employee-owned venture.

Adapting to Changing Times

Like many stores, John Lewis has had to change with the times. They've closed some shops but have grown their online business a lot, especially when more people started shopping online during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Their history is filled with key moments, like buying Peter Jones in 1905, adding Waitrose in 1937, and starting their website in 2001. They've always tried to adapt and stay relevant.

Commitment to a Greater Purpose

John Lewis believes in doing good and making the world a better place. This is seen in the way they treat their employees and customers. For example, in 2021, they were the first big UK store to give parents six months paid leave when they have a baby and two weeks paid leave if they lose a pregnancy. They've been around for over a century and always aim to do the right thing by everyone.
