Description

Made from FSC accredited pine wood, our John Lewis & Partners Ovum cotbed offers a contemporary style with a unique shape and simplistic design. It features laser-cut wood that creates the effect of slats and a space under the cot acts as a storage solution for those who may be tight on space. Able to grow with your child, it has 3 mattress base positions that can be adjusted to suit as your child goes from newborn to toddler. It can also be converted into a toddler bed. Pair with the matching Ovum dresser to complete your nursery decor. This cot bed requires a standard 140 x 70cm mattress (sold separately).

Our Stylist Says

I love this cotbed for its clean, timeless design and versatile white finish, making it a great foundation for a variety of nursery styles-from Scandi minimalism to soft coastal themes. Its ovum shape adds a gentle, modern touch that feels calming and inviting. As a stylist, I recommend pairing it with soft pastel or neutral linens to create a serene environment, and adding a textured rug or cosy throw for warmth. Practical tips include choosing multi-functional furnishings such as storage drawers or organisers nearby, and layering with breathable, washable bedding for easy maintenance. Its classic, unobtrusive look allows for flexible styling, making it suitable for a variety of interior themes while providing a safe and comfortable space for your little one.

About John Lewis

Founded in 1864, John Lewis is a trusted and beloved brand where you can find a diverse range of furniture for every style and budget, alongside finding the perfect item that reflects your personal taste.

A Legacy of Innovation and Inclusion

John Lewis started as a small shop on London's Oxford Street in 1864. Today, it's part of a bigger family called the John Lewis Partnership, which also includes Waitrose stores.

What makes them special is that they're owned by their employees, known as 'Partners'. The idea, from the beginning, was to give everyone a say in how the business was run. With over 74,000 Partners (employees) at the heart of its operations, the essence of John Lewis's vision, from over a century ago, still echoes today being the largest employee-owned venture.

Adapting to Changing Times

Like many stores, John Lewis has had to change with the times. They've closed some shops but have grown their online business a lot, especially when more people started shopping online during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Their history is filled with key moments, like buying Peter Jones in 1905, adding Waitrose in 1937, and starting their website in 2001. They've always tried to adapt and stay relevant.

Commitment to a Greater Purpose

John Lewis believes in doing good and making the world a better place. This is seen in the way they treat their employees and customers. For example, in 2021, they were the first big UK store to give parents six months paid leave when they have a baby and two weeks paid leave if they lose a pregnancy. They've been around for over a century and always aim to do the right thing by everyone.
