Description

Made from a high-quality, medium-weight Dupiono silk, our Oratorio lampshade is suitable for both ceiling lights and lamp bases. Its tapered shape features wide pleat detailing with a crepe trim at the top and bottom, and it's lined in the same colour to enhance a warm and concentrated glow of light. The silk has been formed from a plain weave, where two cocoons naturally adjoined. Thanks to this natural design, any textural irregularities are characteristic of its closely weaved construction. Dimension breakdown: Dia.20cm = H13 x bottom dia.20 x top dia.12cm Dia.25cm = H18 x bottom dia.25 x top dia.16cm Dia.30cm = H20 x bottom dia.30 x top dia.18cm Dia.35cm = H23.5 x bottom dia.35 x top dia.21cm Dia.41cm = H27 x bottom dia.41 x top dia.25cm Dia.45cm = H30 x bottom dia.45 x top dia.27cm Dia.50cm = H33 x bottom dia.50 x top dia.27cm Worth knowing Small lampshade sizes are made with a reversible gimble. Our Stylist Says

I love this lampshade for its elegant yet understated design, making it a versatile choice that can add a touch of sophistication to both traditional and contemporary interiors. Its silk material offers a soft, lustrous finish that nicely diffuses warm light, creating a cosy ambience. This shade works particularly well in living rooms, bedrooms, or reading nooks where a refined touch is desired. For practical styling, pair it with neutral or pastel lamps bases to keep the look fresh, and consider using multiple shades to create a cohesive lighting scheme. Its tapered silhouette lends itself well to table or floor lamps, making it an easy upgrade for any space in need of a stylish refresh.

About John Lewis

Founded in 1864, John Lewis is a trusted and beloved brand where you can find a diverse range of furniture for every style and budget, alongside finding the perfect item that reflects your personal taste.

A Legacy of Innovation and Inclusion

John Lewis started as a small shop on London's Oxford Street in 1864. Today, it's part of a bigger family called the John Lewis Partnership, which also includes Waitrose stores.

What makes them special is that they're owned by their employees, known as 'Partners'. The idea, from the beginning, was to give everyone a say in how the business was run. With over 74,000 Partners (employees) at the heart of its operations, the essence of John Lewis's vision, from over a century ago, still echoes today being the largest employee-owned venture.

Adapting to Changing Times

Like many stores, John Lewis has had to change with the times. They've closed some shops but have grown their online business a lot, especially when more people started shopping online during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Their history is filled with key moments, like buying Peter Jones in 1905, adding Waitrose in 1937, and starting their website in 2001. They've always tried to adapt and stay relevant.

Commitment to a Greater Purpose

John Lewis believes in doing good and making the world a better place. This is seen in the way they treat their employees and customers. For example, in 2021, they were the first big UK store to give parents six months paid leave when they have a baby and two weeks paid leave if they lose a pregnancy. They've been around for over a century and always aim to do the right thing by everyone.
