Description
Our Mid-Century Sweep bed frame has a sleek, retro-inspired shape. Its streamlined profile marries soft curves and sharp lines, resting on tapered wooden legs. Sprung slats in the base provide additional support for you and your mattress. Built with Smart Slats This bed frame is designed with wider slats at the shoulders, lumbar and feet. They provide maximum support for you and your mattress so that you experience perfect spinal alignment while you sleep. The standard slat caps are black so we have added grey slat caps to ensure that you know where to place the wider slats. Our Band A fabric, Saga is woven with man-made fibres, making it exceptionally durable and versatile. Our Band A fabric, Topaz is woven to offer a linen-effect feel, and available in a versatile palette. Our Band B fabric, Erin is woven with man-made fibres to create a beautifully soft yarn. This tactile, velvet-style chenille fabric exhibits a two-tone look in different lights. Our Band B fabric, Opulence offers a luxurious, soft-touch. This velvet-feel fabric is available in a rich colour palette. Our Band B fabric, Mole is a woven wool-blend that's soft and cosy. Pilling and bobbling may occur naturally over time. Our Stylist Says
I’m really taken with the sweep upholstered bed frame - its low-profile, curved headboard and slender wooden legs give you that classic mid-century look without feeling dated. The upholstery softens the overall shape, so it works equally well in Scandi-inspired rooms, pared-back neutrals or bolder schemes with jewel-toned throws. For practical styling, layer crisp white linen with a patterned wool throw to introduce texture, and add a couple of bolster cushions that echo the leg finish. Keep bedside tables minimal and opt for simple table lamps or wall-mounted lights to let the bed remain the focal point.

A Legacy of Innovation and Inclusion
John Lewis started as a small shop on London's Oxford Street in 1864. Today, it's part of a bigger family called the John Lewis Partnership, which also includes Waitrose stores.
What makes them special is that they're owned by their employees, known as 'Partners'. The idea, from the beginning, was to give everyone a say in how the business was run. With over 74,000 Partners (employees) at the heart of its operations, the essence of John Lewis's vision, from over a century ago, still echoes today being the largest employee-owned venture.
Adapting to Changing Times
Like many stores, John Lewis has had to change with the times. They've closed some shops but have grown their online business a lot, especially when more people started shopping online during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Their history is filled with key moments, like buying Peter Jones in 1905, adding Waitrose in 1937, and starting their website in 2001. They've always tried to adapt and stay relevant.
Commitment to a Greater Purpose
John Lewis believes in doing good and making the world a better place. This is seen in the way they treat their employees and customers. For example, in 2021, they were the first big UK store to give parents six months paid leave when they have a baby and two weeks paid leave if they lose a pregnancy. They've been around for over a century and always aim to do the right thing by everyone.
