Price History

Description

The Malone sofa bed range has foam seats coupled with soft fibre back cushions for a medium sit. The two-fold slatted bed mechanism comes with a choice of mattresses. A mattress that will respond to your every movement . This sofa bed has a pocket sprung mattress which is only slightly less deep than a standard double bed mattress. The springs are individually sewn into their own fabric pockets which is what makes the mattress so responsive as you change position in the night. Suitable for regular use it provides a peaceful night's sleep. Sits like a sofa, sleeps like a bed . This sofa bed has a 2-fold folding mechanism. When assembled as a sofa the seats are supported by flexible webbing which is the same as traditional sofas. Unfold once and it opens into the bed, which is supported by beech slats much like many beds. This combination of webbing and slats means it's not a case of either a comfortable sofa or a comfortable bed. You get both.

Our Stylist Says

I love this three-seater for its versatile and approachable design, making it a practical choice for a variety of interiors. Its compact size is ideal for smaller living spaces, city apartments, or guest rooms needing a dual-purpose piece. The pocket sprung mattress makes it comfortable enough for occasional overnight stays, which is a big plus. Styling-wise, it works well with neutral, minimalist schemes but can easily be dressed up with colourful cushions, throws, or even a statement rug. To modernise or add a bit of character, pair it with sleek metals or textured fabrics. The overall design is straightforward yet functional, making it a reliable foundation for both contemporary and more classic interiors.

About John Lewis

Founded in 1864, John Lewis is a trusted and beloved brand where you can find a diverse range of furniture for every style and budget, alongside finding the perfect item that reflects your personal taste.

A Legacy of Innovation and Inclusion

John Lewis started as a small shop on London's Oxford Street in 1864. Today, it's part of a bigger family called the John Lewis Partnership, which also includes Waitrose stores.

What makes them special is that they're owned by their employees, known as 'Partners'. The idea, from the beginning, was to give everyone a say in how the business was run. With over 74,000 Partners (employees) at the heart of its operations, the essence of John Lewis's vision, from over a century ago, still echoes today being the largest employee-owned venture.

Adapting to Changing Times

Like many stores, John Lewis has had to change with the times. They've closed some shops but have grown their online business a lot, especially when more people started shopping online during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Their history is filled with key moments, like buying Peter Jones in 1905, adding Waitrose in 1937, and starting their website in 2001. They've always tried to adapt and stay relevant.

Commitment to a Greater Purpose

John Lewis believes in doing good and making the world a better place. This is seen in the way they treat their employees and customers. For example, in 2021, they were the first big UK store to give parents six months paid leave when they have a baby and two weeks paid leave if they lose a pregnancy. They've been around for over a century and always aim to do the right thing by everyone.
