Description

Our Luxury Natural Collection is handmade by experts in Yorkshire, with natural fillings chosen for their wonderful comfort, temperature-regulating and moisture-wicking properties. The innovative, high-density pocket springs reduce pressure points and give excellent targeted support. Plus, the combination of eco-friendly and natural fillings, alongside a completely glue-free design means these mattresses are fully recyclable at end of life for a much more sustainable sleep space. The addition of a pillowtop adds a soft and sumptuous extra layer to this mattress. Neither too soft, nor too firm, our Regular tension models provide just the right balance of support, however you sleep. This zip link model can be used as one large mattress or as two independent mattresses, depending on your needs. Natural fillings Manufactured in Yorkshire by Harrison Spinks, this mattress is upholstered with layers of locally-sourced natural fillings. British wool is used for its durability, comfort and natural springiness while hemp wicks away moisture, keeping the bed fresh and hygienic. The cover is also made with insulating, luxury wool which is fully traceable to British farms. It's naturally fire retardant and free from chemical treatment for a healthier sleep. Cortec™ Quad pocket spring system This glue-free support system is made up of hundreds of pocket springs that move independently from each other to contour your body with accuracy. Designed, developed and manufactured in-house with a design that unites comfort and sustainability, they ensure precise pressure relief and help to keep your body weight evenly distributed during the night. Plus, as the springs work individually, air can flow better through the mattress and keep the temperature controlled. Eco-friendly design Marking a huge and sustainable step forward in mattress manufacturing, the patented Cortec™ Quad springs are sealed with heat rather than glue. Not only does this mean the springs can work individually for maximum efficiency, it also means each spring can be disassembled and reinvented in the future. So this mattress is 100% recyclable at the end of its life, rather than ending up in landfill sites across the country. We guarantee to recycle your mattress responsibly when you're ready to buy your next one, after seven years. and we'll help you to choose a new mattress and recycle this one. Make the most of your mattress After unwrapping your new mattress, leave it in a well-ventilated room for a few hours. Any natural scent from the fillings will dissipate after a few days. We recommend using a cotton mattress protector and airing your mattress regularly. If you're placing this mattress on a slatted base, ensure the gaps are no more than 7.5cm apart. Try before you buy This is an important purchase and it's worthwhile to try your choice of mattress in store to make sure it's right for you. Our store Partners will be able to tell you more about its benefits, and recommend options based on your needs.

About John Lewis

Founded in 1864, John Lewis is a trusted and beloved brand where you can find a diverse range of furniture for every style and budget, alongside finding the perfect item that reflects your personal taste.

A Legacy of Innovation and Inclusion

John Lewis started as a small shop on London's Oxford Street in 1864. Today, it's part of a bigger family called the John Lewis Partnership, which also includes Waitrose stores.

What makes them special is that they're owned by their employees, known as 'Partners'. The idea, from the beginning, was to give everyone a say in how the business was run. With over 74,000 Partners (employees) at the heart of its operations, the essence of John Lewis's vision, from over a century ago, still echoes today being the largest employee-owned venture.

Adapting to Changing Times

Like many stores, John Lewis has had to change with the times. They've closed some shops but have grown their online business a lot, especially when more people started shopping online during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Their history is filled with key moments, like buying Peter Jones in 1905, adding Waitrose in 1937, and starting their website in 2001. They've always tried to adapt and stay relevant.

Commitment to a Greater Purpose

John Lewis believes in doing good and making the world a better place. This is seen in the way they treat their employees and customers. For example, in 2021, they were the first big UK store to give parents six months paid leave when they have a baby and two weeks paid leave if they lose a pregnancy. They've been around for over a century and always aim to do the right thing by everyone.
