Description

Hand-tufted and hand-looped, our 100% wool Kastrup Rug is offered in a unique, check design and features contrasting colours and shapes making it the perfect way to add interest to a neutrally toned room. Latex backed About your new rug: Each rug is unique and a slight variance in colour is to be expected. Light shedding is expected particularly in new rugs, this will reduce over time and will not affect the quality or longevity of the rug. We recommend that your rug is placed in a low traffic area, and we recommend that you vacuum your rug occasionally to keep it clean, do not use a vacuum cleaner with a spinning brush head. Generally light dirty marks can be cleaned with a damp cloth and new spills are blotted. Do not use detergents to clean or dry clean your rug. Specialist cleaning is recommended. Latex backed so unsuitable for use in rooms with underfloor heating. The John Lewis Foundation: This rug has been handmade in an area of India where not all children have access to education. Through the John Lewis Foundation, which was set up to help improve the well-being of disadvantaged communities, we have worked with a local charity Care & Fair India to fund the building and running of a new school offering secondary education to teenage girls who would not otherwise have this opportunity. John Lewis Foundation, a registered charity: 11181620.The John Lewis Foundation was established to benefit communities in the UK and overseas. Since 2007, it's supported 50 charities in 9 countries promoting education, enterprise and employment.

Our Stylist Says

I love this rug for its bold, modern print and fresh colour palette, making it an eye-catching piece without overwhelming a space. It's versatile enough to work well in contemporary living rooms or bedrooms, especially when paired with neutral or muted furniture to allow the pattern to stand out. Practical styling tips include layering it under a minimalist coffee table or pairing with simple upholstery to let the design take centre stage. Its durable build also makes it suitable for high-traffic areas, adding both style and functionality to your interiors.

About John Lewis

Founded in 1864, John Lewis is a trusted and beloved brand where you can find a diverse range of furniture for every style and budget, alongside finding the perfect item that reflects your personal taste.

A Legacy of Innovation and Inclusion

John Lewis started as a small shop on London's Oxford Street in 1864. Today, it's part of a bigger family called the John Lewis Partnership, which also includes Waitrose stores.

What makes them special is that they're owned by their employees, known as 'Partners'. The idea, from the beginning, was to give everyone a say in how the business was run. With over 74,000 Partners (employees) at the heart of its operations, the essence of John Lewis's vision, from over a century ago, still echoes today being the largest employee-owned venture.

Adapting to Changing Times

Like many stores, John Lewis has had to change with the times. They've closed some shops but have grown their online business a lot, especially when more people started shopping online during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Their history is filled with key moments, like buying Peter Jones in 1905, adding Waitrose in 1937, and starting their website in 2001. They've always tried to adapt and stay relevant.

Commitment to a Greater Purpose

John Lewis believes in doing good and making the world a better place. This is seen in the way they treat their employees and customers. For example, in 2021, they were the first big UK store to give parents six months paid leave when they have a baby and two weeks paid leave if they lose a pregnancy. They've been around for over a century and always aim to do the right thing by everyone.
