Description

Henry is a striking range of furniture made from solid oak and oak veneers. It is finished with natural Danish linseed oil to enhance the colour of the wood and highlight its inherent knots and grain. The oiled finish, which can be maintained with linseed oil, adds to the durability of the collection and helps resist spillages. Ideal for fitting neatly into your living space to provide essential storage, this sideboard features three drawers and three doors. The flush-handled design of the drawers and doors offer a neat, streamlined appearance which will slot effortlessly into your interior scheme. Please note: not all our ranges are on display in our shops. Our Stylist Says

I really like this sideboard for its clean, minimalist design and warm timber finish, which makes it highly versatile across different interiors. It works particularly well in modern, Scandi-inspired spaces due to its simple lines and natural aesthetic, but can also complement traditional or rustic schemes when styled thoughtfully. Practical tips include using open shelving at the top for decorative accessories or everyday essentials, while keeping the drawers and cabinets for tidier storage. Pair it with understated hardware, or leave the handles minimal, to keep the look sleek. It’s a great piece for adding organisation without sacrificing style, whether in the living room, dining area, or even a spacious hallway.

About John Lewis

Founded in 1864, John Lewis is a trusted and beloved brand where you can find a diverse range of furniture for every style and budget, alongside finding the perfect item that reflects your personal taste.

A Legacy of Innovation and Inclusion

John Lewis started as a small shop on London's Oxford Street in 1864. Today, it's part of a bigger family called the John Lewis Partnership, which also includes Waitrose stores.

What makes them special is that they're owned by their employees, known as 'Partners'. The idea, from the beginning, was to give everyone a say in how the business was run. With over 74,000 Partners (employees) at the heart of its operations, the essence of John Lewis's vision, from over a century ago, still echoes today being the largest employee-owned venture.

Adapting to Changing Times

Like many stores, John Lewis has had to change with the times. They've closed some shops but have grown their online business a lot, especially when more people started shopping online during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Their history is filled with key moments, like buying Peter Jones in 1905, adding Waitrose in 1937, and starting their website in 2001. They've always tried to adapt and stay relevant.

Commitment to a Greater Purpose

John Lewis believes in doing good and making the world a better place. This is seen in the way they treat their employees and customers. For example, in 2021, they were the first big UK store to give parents six months paid leave when they have a baby and two weeks paid leave if they lose a pregnancy. They've been around for over a century and always aim to do the right thing by everyone.
