Description
This dining chair is made from melia ash and pippy oak veneers. With a cane backrest, plump upholstered seat, and X-shaped stretchers between the tapering legs.;Pippy oak features small, tight clusters of knots, which appear sporadically in the growth of the tree. This feature is highly valued by master craftsmen for its decorative appearance. Melia ash is a fast growing tree, taking only 20-25 years to mature, and has been used for its stable and durable qualities. The Cane used in Hemingway is natural and handmade;This elegant furniture is inspired by the formal yet practical look of the late 19th century Arts and Crafts movement. Each piece in the Hemingway range is made from melia oak solids and pippy oak veneers, stained a rich deep colour, and hand-polished with wax lacquer. For a traditional finish, doors and drawers are finished with antiqued brass knob handles.;The Hemingway range features a beautifully distressed finish, which makes each piece utterly unique to its owner.

Their history is filled with key moments, like buying Peter Jones in 1905, adding Waitrose in 1937, and starting their website in 2001. They've always tried to adapt and stay relevant.
Commitment to a Greater Purpose
John Lewis believes in doing good and making the world a better place. This is seen in the way they treat their employees and customers. For example, in 2021, they were the first big UK store to give parents six months paid leave when they have a baby and two weeks paid leave if they lose a pregnancy. They've been around for over a century and always aim to do the right thing by everyone.
