Meet Emily Kitami , our bed frame which is designed with an upholstered headboard and a sturdy solid oak base. It's a classic, clean-lined style but the well-padded headboard gives it a modern edge, and it can be upholstered in a fabric of your choice. Sprung slats in the base provide a supportive and responsive foundation for your mattress. Built with Smart Slats This bed frame is designed with wider slats at the shoulders, lumbar and feet. They provide maximum support for you and your mattress so that you experience perfect spinal alignment while you sleep. The standard slat caps are black so we have added grey slat caps to ensure that you know where to place the wider slats. Choose from one of our fabrics: Our Band A fabric, Topaz is woven to create a linen-effect feel Our Band A fabric, Saga is woven with man-made fibres, making it exceptionally durable and versatile Our Band B fabric, Erin has a velvet-style, chenille feel. It's woven with man-made fibres to create a beautifully soft yarn and can appear two-tone in different lights Our Band B fabric, Opulence is a soft and luxurious velvet-like fabric Our Band B fabric, Mole is a soft and cosy woven wool-blend. Piling and bobbling may occur naturally over time Our Band B fabric, Relaxed Linen is durable, resilient and versatile, woven from man-made and natural fibres Our Band C fabric, Aquaclean Harriet is made from a short, dense pile of velvet that has a soft, brushed finish. An Aquaclean treatment has been applied to this resilient fabric which means you can banish the majority of household stains with water. I’m a fan of the Emily bed’s simple oak frame and softly upholstered headboard - it brings a clean, calm look to Scandi, contemporary or minimalist bedrooms. Its small-double size makes it ideal for spare rooms or cosy master suites without overwhelming the space. For styling, keep bedding in neutral tones and add a chunky knit throw or textural cushions for depth. Pair it with slimline bedside tables in a matching wood or matte black metal, and introduce a potted plant or two to soften the lines. A wall-hung reading lamp or a small shelf above the headboard will keep the look uncluttered yet practical.

A Legacy of Innovation and Inclusion
John Lewis started as a small shop on London's Oxford Street in 1864. Today, it's part of a bigger family called the John Lewis Partnership, which also includes Waitrose stores.
What makes them special is that they're owned by their employees, known as 'Partners'. The idea, from the beginning, was to give everyone a say in how the business was run. With over 74,000 Partners (employees) at the heart of its operations, the essence of John Lewis's vision, from over a century ago, still echoes today being the largest employee-owned venture.
Adapting to Changing Times
Like many stores, John Lewis has had to change with the times. They've closed some shops but have grown their online business a lot, especially when more people started shopping online during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Their history is filled with key moments, like buying Peter Jones in 1905, adding Waitrose in 1937, and starting their website in 2001. They've always tried to adapt and stay relevant.
Commitment to a Greater Purpose
John Lewis believes in doing good and making the world a better place. This is seen in the way they treat their employees and customers. For example, in 2021, they were the first big UK store to give parents six months paid leave when they have a baby and two weeks paid leave if they lose a pregnancy. They've been around for over a century and always aim to do the right thing by everyone.
