Description

Compatible with Velux® Roof Windows our blackout skylight blinds keep out the light so you can get a good night's sleep and not be disturbed by the late setting or early rising sun. Choosing the right size To select the right size skylight blind you don't actually need to get your tape measure out as roof windows include an identification label that tells you the size. This label is usually found on the top or side of the window when it's open, so as you swing it open take a look at the top and side edges. You'll see a metal patch with the brand name and some codes. The first code will be three letters long and is your 'Window Type' code. You're looking for the next code, which will be three or four characters long with letters and numbers, for example 'BK04'. This is the 'Size Code'. If you're having trouble finding the code label on your window then it's time to get the tape measure out. Measure the width and drop of the glass then either pop into one of our shops to speak to a Partner or book an appointment (either in-home or virtual) and one of our estimators can help. If you book an appointment our estimator can do the measuring for you. They can also give design and technical advice as well. Find out more about our services and book an appointment here

Our Stylist Says

The John Lewis & Partners blackout skylight blind with a silver frame is a practical addition, especially for bedrooms or media rooms where controlling light is essential. I love its sleek, modern look, which complements contemporary and minimalist interiors perfectly. The blackout feature helps create a restful environment and is ideal for those who work night shifts or prefer a darker room for sleeping. Styling-wise, this blind works well with neutral or monochrome colour schemes but can also add a cool touch to more eclectic interiors. Practical tips include pairing it with layered window treatments, like sheer curtains, to give versatility for adjusting the light and privacy levels. Its clean silver frame adds a subtle metallic accent that enhances a refined, understated aesthetic.

About John Lewis

Founded in 1864, John Lewis is a trusted and beloved brand where you can find a diverse range of furniture for every style and budget, alongside finding the perfect item that reflects your personal taste.

A Legacy of Innovation and Inclusion

John Lewis started as a small shop on London's Oxford Street in 1864. Today, it's part of a bigger family called the John Lewis Partnership, which also includes Waitrose stores.

What makes them special is that they're owned by their employees, known as 'Partners'. The idea, from the beginning, was to give everyone a say in how the business was run. With over 74,000 Partners (employees) at the heart of its operations, the essence of John Lewis's vision, from over a century ago, still echoes today being the largest employee-owned venture.

Adapting to Changing Times

Like many stores, John Lewis has had to change with the times. They've closed some shops but have grown their online business a lot, especially when more people started shopping online during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Their history is filled with key moments, like buying Peter Jones in 1905, adding Waitrose in 1937, and starting their website in 2001. They've always tried to adapt and stay relevant.

Commitment to a Greater Purpose

John Lewis believes in doing good and making the world a better place. This is seen in the way they treat their employees and customers. For example, in 2021, they were the first big UK store to give parents six months paid leave when they have a baby and two weeks paid leave if they lose a pregnancy. They've been around for over a century and always aim to do the right thing by everyone.
