Description

Compatible with Velux® Roof Windows our blackout skylight blinds keep out the light so you can get a good night's sleep and not be disturbed by the late setting or early rising sun. Choosing the right size To select the right size skylight blind you don't actually need to get your tape measure out as Velux® roof windows include an identification label that tells you the size. This label is usually found on the top or side of the window when it's open, so as you swing it open take a look at the top and side edges. You'll see a metal patch with the brand name and some codes. The first code will be three letters long and is your 'Window Type' code. You're looking for the next code, which will be three or four characters long with letters and numbers, for example 'BK04'. This is the 'Size Code'.

Our Stylist Says

I love the John Lewis & Partners blackout skylight blind for its sleek and modern look, especially with the navy fabric and silver frame-it adds a sophisticated touch to any room. It’s perfect for contemporary interiors, particularly those with minimalist or monochrome schemes, but also works well in more layered spaces when you want to balance darker tones with lighter or metallic accents. Practical styling tips include pairing it with light-coloured walls to make the navy stand out, or using soft textiles and metallic accessories to complement the silver frame. It’s a great choice for bedrooms or media rooms where blackout functionality is key, without compromising on style.

About John Lewis

Founded in 1864, John Lewis is a trusted and beloved brand where you can find a diverse range of furniture for every style and budget, alongside finding the perfect item that reflects your personal taste.

A Legacy of Innovation and Inclusion

John Lewis started as a small shop on London's Oxford Street in 1864. Today, it's part of a bigger family called the John Lewis Partnership, which also includes Waitrose stores.

What makes them special is that they're owned by their employees, known as 'Partners'. The idea, from the beginning, was to give everyone a say in how the business was run. With over 74,000 Partners (employees) at the heart of its operations, the essence of John Lewis's vision, from over a century ago, still echoes today being the largest employee-owned venture.

Adapting to Changing Times

Like many stores, John Lewis has had to change with the times. They've closed some shops but have grown their online business a lot, especially when more people started shopping online during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Their history is filled with key moments, like buying Peter Jones in 1905, adding Waitrose in 1937, and starting their website in 2001. They've always tried to adapt and stay relevant.

Commitment to a Greater Purpose

John Lewis believes in doing good and making the world a better place. This is seen in the way they treat their employees and customers. For example, in 2021, they were the first big UK store to give parents six months paid leave when they have a baby and two weeks paid leave if they lose a pregnancy. They've been around for over a century and always aim to do the right thing by everyone.
