Description

With a slim build and tapered legs, the Bailey range comes in a wide choice of sizes, offering a versatile solution for your home. Less foam for improved sustainability We've reduced the foam content in our Bailey range and now use a mix of recycled PET bonded fibres in the main body. This still gives the same soft and supportive feel, but has the added benefit that these fibres can be recycled or repurposed at their end of life. A mattress that responds to your every movement This sofa bed has a pocket sprung mattress which is only slightly less deep than a standard double bed mattress. The springs are individually sewn into their own fabric pockets which is what makes the mattress so responsive as you change position in the night. Suitable for regular use it provides a peaceful night's sleep. Sits like a sofa, sleeps like a bed When assembled as a sofa the seats are supported by flexible webbing, the same as traditional sofas. Using a 2-fold mechanism it opens into the bed, which is supported by beech slats much like many beds. This combination of webbing and slats means it's not a case of either a comfortable sofa or a comfortable bed. You get both. It's the little things At John Lewis & Partners we care about our furniture; how it's designed, the materials used and the people who make it. That's why every detail is carefully considered, with more than 20 quality checks, to ensure you're as proud of it as we are. Want to see it first? You may want to see and get a feel for this piece of furniture in one of our shops before ordering. We'll be able to tell you where the range you'd like to view is on display.

Our Stylist Says

I love this one for its clean, contemporary look and versatile colour. The light grey quartz shade pairs well with a range of colour palettes, making it easy to style with both colourful accessories and neutral tones. Its medium size makes it ideal for compact living spaces or guest rooms, where function and aesthetics are equally important. For styling tips, consider adding textured cushions and throws to soften the appearance or contrasting elements like a bold rug or statement lighting to make it stand out. Its simple lines also mean it works well in both modern and more traditional interiors, offering flexibility in design choices. Plus, the sofa bed function is practical without compromising on comfort when sitting, making it a reliable piece for everyday living.

About John Lewis

Founded in 1864, John Lewis is a trusted and beloved brand where you can find a diverse range of furniture for every style and budget, alongside finding the perfect item that reflects your personal taste.

A Legacy of Innovation and Inclusion

John Lewis started as a small shop on London's Oxford Street in 1864. Today, it's part of a bigger family called the John Lewis Partnership, which also includes Waitrose stores.

What makes them special is that they're owned by their employees, known as 'Partners'. The idea, from the beginning, was to give everyone a say in how the business was run. With over 74,000 Partners (employees) at the heart of its operations, the essence of John Lewis's vision, from over a century ago, still echoes today being the largest employee-owned venture.

Adapting to Changing Times

Like many stores, John Lewis has had to change with the times. They've closed some shops but have grown their online business a lot, especially when more people started shopping online during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Their history is filled with key moments, like buying Peter Jones in 1905, adding Waitrose in 1937, and starting their website in 2001. They've always tried to adapt and stay relevant.

Commitment to a Greater Purpose

John Lewis believes in doing good and making the world a better place. This is seen in the way they treat their employees and customers. For example, in 2021, they were the first big UK store to give parents six months paid leave when they have a baby and two weeks paid leave if they lose a pregnancy. They've been around for over a century and always aim to do the right thing by everyone.
