Description

Allison Pearce captures a cluster of slender English elms on the cusp of autumn as an icy dawn braces the rusty leaves for their fall. A serene yet stirring symphony of subtle hues, framed and ready to hang on your wall. Born in Reykjavik, Iceland, artist Allison Pearce is a passionate painter whose works have a contemporary style. Before she became an artist, Allison held a few jobs including at a design firm, bank and an art gallery. To become an artist, Allison studied at the Art Institute of Reykjavik to earn her degree. Most of her pieces include nature landscapes and flowers and have an impressionistic feel. Allison now lives in Toronto, Canada where she continues to create artwork. She believes that her home in Canada has an effect on the art she creates. "Inspiration comes from everywhere, even from places that you don't expect," she says. Have you thought about wall hooks and fittings?

Our Stylist Says

I love this print for its subtle elegance and versatility. The 'Copper Frost' artwork works beautifully in both modern and traditional interiors, adding a touch of sophistication without overpowering the space. Its earthy tones and delicate framing make it a great focal point above a sofa or fireplace in a living room, or as part of a gallery wall in a hallway. To style it effectively, consider pairing it with neutral or muted colour schemes, and incorporate metallic accents like gold or copper accessories to echo the frame. For a more contemporary look, it can also be combined with textured materials such as linen or velvet for a layered, inviting feel. Its size makes it suitable for statement walls, but be mindful to leave some breathing space around it for maximum impact.

About John Lewis

Founded in 1864, John Lewis is a trusted and beloved brand where you can find a diverse range of furniture for every style and budget, alongside finding the perfect item that reflects your personal taste.

A Legacy of Innovation and Inclusion

John Lewis started as a small shop on London's Oxford Street in 1864. Today, it's part of a bigger family called the John Lewis Partnership, which also includes Waitrose stores.

What makes them special is that they're owned by their employees, known as 'Partners'. The idea, from the beginning, was to give everyone a say in how the business was run. With over 74,000 Partners (employees) at the heart of its operations, the essence of John Lewis's vision, from over a century ago, still echoes today being the largest employee-owned venture.

Adapting to Changing Times

Like many stores, John Lewis has had to change with the times. They've closed some shops but have grown their online business a lot, especially when more people started shopping online during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Their history is filled with key moments, like buying Peter Jones in 1905, adding Waitrose in 1937, and starting their website in 2001. They've always tried to adapt and stay relevant.

Commitment to a Greater Purpose

John Lewis believes in doing good and making the world a better place. This is seen in the way they treat their employees and customers. For example, in 2021, they were the first big UK store to give parents six months paid leave when they have a baby and two weeks paid leave if they lose a pregnancy. They've been around for over a century and always aim to do the right thing by everyone.
