Description

The versatile Jessie walnut leaning bookcase with storage provides generous storage and display space for books, decorative objects and accessories. Created in the Habitat design studio, Jessie has crisp lines with solid oak uprights and a walnut stained finish. A bottom storage cupboard with push close doors provides ample space for items you need close at hand but want to keep hidden away. Jessie is also available in both a wide and narrow bookcase which can be paired with the storage bookshelf for a modular look.

Our Stylist Says

I love this leaning bookcase for its sleek, minimalist design that adds warmth and structure to a range of interiors. Its walnut finish gives it a rich, timeless look, making it versatile enough for both contemporary and Scandi-inspired schemes. You can style it with a mix of books, decorative objects, and plants to keep it feeling fresh and personalised. Practical tip: utilise the lower storage cabinet for less visually appealing items or additional organisation, while the open shelves are perfect for display and quick access. It works particularly well in cosy living rooms, home offices, or even bedrooms-anywhere you need stylish storage that doesn’t overwhelm the space.

About Habitat

Founded in 1964, Habitat are a renowned brand, and a go-to destination for modern and stylish furniture and home accessories.

The Birth of Habitat

In 1964, Sir Terence Conran founded Habitat in London, aiming to bring a fresh European touch to UK home decor.

The first store, located on Fulham Road in Chelsea, became the blueprint for all Habitat stores to come. The store stood out with its distinct design, and was famously known for selling affordable pasta storage jars just as the pasta market began booming in the UK.

Rapid Expansion & Legacy

Habitat grew swiftly in the UK during the 1960s and even crossed borders with its first international store in Paris in 1973.

The brand's journey through the decades saw various mergers and acquisitions, including its integration with Sainsbury's Group in 2017.

Habitat's innovation extended beyond products; they even launched a mail-order system in 1966 and initiated the concept of flat-pack furniture in 1971.

Celebrating its rich history, the brand marked its 50th anniversary in 2014 by collaborating with past designers and commissioning a special logo.

Innovation & Collaboration

Habitat has always been at the forefront of modern design. Throughout its history, the brand has been renowned for its collaborations with acclaimed artists and designers, ensuring it consistently offers unique, limited-edition collections.

Under the umbrella of the Sainsbury's Group since 2017, Habitat continues its tradition of merging contemporary aesthetics with functional design, solidifying its reputation as a leading name in home furnishings.
