I’m a fan of this burgundy velvet sleigh bed because its deep button-tufted headboard and footboard add instant height and texture without feeling fussy. It works particularly well in modern-glam or Art Deco schemes but can also lift a pared-back Scandi or moody industrial space when paired with matte metal accents.
For styling, keep bedding in soft neutrals - think dove-grey linens with a chunky white throw - then introduce one or two metallic pieces, such as brass bedside lamps or a slim mirrored console. A low-pile rug in charcoal or muted pattern will ground the bed and show off its rich colour without competing for attention.
