I’m a big fan of this velvet sleigh bed for its combination of classic Chesterfield tufting and a modern silhouette. The deep black velvet adds an instant sense of drama and works particularly well in both contemporary and art-deco schemes - pair it with brass bedside lamps or mirrored furniture to enhance the luxe feel. For a cosy yet streamlined look, layer neutral linens and introduce a couple of velvet scatter cushions in contrasting tones, then ground the space with a low-pile rug. Humble Beginnings
In 1980, Chris Dawson set up a simple open-air market stall in Plymouth. By 1989, this entrepreneurial spirit led to the opening of the very first physical store on Billacombe Road, originally named "C.D.S. Superstores". However, in the early '90s, a rebranding took place, introducing "The Range" to the world.
Today, with a whopping 200+ stores across the UK, The Range boasts an impressive selection of over 65,000 products, spreading across 16 diverse departments, all dedicated to enhancing homes and lifestyles.
A Visionary Leader
Chris Dawson, the brain behind The Range, held the CEO position from 1989 to 2017. With a flair for business, Chris's achievements haven't gone unnoticed. He was even ranked fifth in a survey of Britain's Top 100 Entrepreneurs.
Under his leadership, The Range has not only thrived locally but has also hinted at European expansion dreams, envisioning a staggering 1,000 stores across the continent.
