Tall trees stands dominate in this bright print from Jacky Al-Samarraie. The bold black cut out is contrasted with the bright white background, drama is added with an orange pop of colour. This long photo frame is the perfect size for hanging over a mantel or above a sofa. The print is presented in a beautiful scored mount, emphasising the print, and is in a decorative MDF wrapped frame that was a contemporary black grained wood finish. Jacky Al-Samarraie uses uncomplicated images, sourced from the British countryside, and adds graphic bright blocks of colour to create an eye-catching design. She developed this style during her degree and created The Art Room company in 2007. Her bold landscape images can now be seen on cards, mugs and prints. Al-Samarraie didn't start life as an artist, she originally pursued a career in Social Services. It wasn't until her children grew up that she went back to develop her creative skills; receiving a first honours degree in Graphic Media Communication from Bradford College of Art Design & Textiles.
I really like this one - it’s a versatile piece that can bring a modern touch to a variety of interiors. Its clean black and white silhouette against the bold orange section makes it a striking focal point. It works particularly well in contemporary or minimalist spaces, where it can add colour without overwhelming, but it also pairs nicely with neutral palettes in more eclectic or Scandinavian interiors. For styling, consider hanging it above a simple sideboard or sofa, and pairing with other black and white art or accessories for a cohesive look. Its size makes it flexible for both smaller walls and larger open spaces, making it a practical and stylish choice.
