Fans of vintage Scandinavian design will be delighted: Hay has reissued the furniture in the FDB collection, all icons created by leading Danish designers in 50s and 60s. This small beechwood armchair is a reissue of the original model designed by the famous Danish architect Poul M. Volther in the 1960s. A highly ingenious mix of retro lines and contemporary design. The J42 chair is a new take on a true classic: the Windsor seat, very much in vogue in the 18th century. Poul M. Volther respects the main features of the traditional Windsor chair, including the use of wood and the back created from fine poles. This gives the great classic cleaner and more modern lines of Scandinavian inspiration. The assembly of poles provides a balanced and wonderfully graceful openwork structure. We love the very graphic effect created by this decorative little chair. Its wide seat offers optimum comfort. The J42 chair will give your table a very on-trend, vintage feel. PLEASE NOTE: This product is not suitable for professional use in local establishments (for home use only).
I love this chair for its blend of classic charm and modern simplicity. Its white wooden finish makes it highly versatile, working well in both traditional and contemporary dining spaces. It’s particularly effective when paired with a natural or neutral-toned table, but can also serve as a striking contrast in more colourful settings. Practical styling tips include layering with textured cushions for added comfort, or mixing different finishes or colours for an eclectic look. This piece is a great choice if you're after a timeless, durable chair that can easily adapt as your interior style evolves.
