Our Stylist Says

This ceiling fan and light combo is a versatile addition that works well in modern, contemporary, or even transitional interiors. I love how the satin nickel finish adds a subtle touch of sophistication while maintaining a neutral palette that allows it to blend seamlessly with different colour schemes. It’s ideal for rooms where practicality is key, such as living areas or bedrooms, thanks to its adjustable brightness and fan functionality, which help to control comfort and ambience. For styling tips, consider pairing it with minimalist fixtures or geometric décor to accentuate its sleek design, and hang it in spaces with high ceilings to really make it a focal point without overwhelming the room.

About BHS.com

Founded in 1928, BHS is a renowned brand that caters to various tastes and budgets. From modern to classic designs, BHS offers quality items that effortlessly elevate your decor.

Historical Roots

British Home Stores, known as BHS, was founded by a group of U.S. entrepreneurs with the goal of replicating the same success that was seen by Woolworths.

Their first store was on the streets of Brixton and the brand quickly gained popularity for its diverse offerings.

Over time, their range of products expanded to encompass not just clothing and household items, but also furniture, electronics, entertainment, and even beauty products. By the 1960's, BHS already had 94 stores across the nation!

Expansion and Evolution

BHS has always been on the cutting edge of retail trends! In the 1970s and 1980s, when indoor shopping centres were gaining popularity, BHS quickly adapted. Their collaboration with Sainsbury's led to the creation of SavaCentre hypermarkets, which offered a combined retail experience of both general merchandise and groceries.

They didn't limit themselves to the UK either. By 1985, BHS opened its doors in Gibraltar, marking its international debut. Significant milestones like the merger with Habitat and Mothercare in 1986 further shaped its success.
