Sumptuous in design and colour the Indian wallpaper is a faithful reproduction of an early paper from 1868-70 thought to have been designed by George Gilbery Scott. The log books reveals it is the most recoloured design over the decades. Similar in appearance to the block-printed original this surflex printed version comes in two colours. Shown here in a red and black colourway. This design is a beautiful choice for a feature wall in a living room and office space or perhaps used to paper an entire bedroom or hallway. Application Method: paste the wall and then apply. Pattern match:Straight match. Vertical Pattern Repeat: 61cm. This wallpaper is part of the Morris Volume V wallpapers collection.
I love the bold contrast of the Indian wallpaper in red and black with this classic, intricately carved chair-it’s a striking combination that works well in eclectic or traditional interiors looking for a punch of colour and pattern. This wallpaper is particularly versatile for creating feature walls in living rooms or bedrooms, adding warmth and depth to the space. To style it effectively, consider pairing it with understated furnishings and accessories in neutral tones to let the pattern stand out, or layer with rich textures like velvet or leather to enhance its opulent feel. Practical tips include choosing plain or subtly patterned textiles to avoid clashing with the wallpaper’s intricate design and ensuring the room has ample lighting to keep it from feeling too dark or overwhelming.
