Philippe Starck gives us a contemporary, refined version of the traditional lantern. Devoid of superfluous details, In Vitro Unplugged consists of an aluminium structure within which is embedded a transparent glass capsule. Its design is based on the idea that the glass globe that traditionally protects light bulbs, made unnecessary by LED circuit technology, can now become an integral part of the lamp itself. The result is particularly light and poetic. Philippe Starck: "The collection of outdoor lamps created for Flos is a minor miracle. Historically, the bulb has been protected by a glass globe. Today, it disappears in favour of light itself. It’s the poetic, surrealist idea of dematerialised architectural lighting and the memory of the space occupied by light. "Invisible, the ultra-slim LED light source is placed under the aluminium head. Edge Lighting optical technology ensures perfect light uniformity. Wireless, this portable lamp is weather-resistant and can be used indoors and out. It’s easy to carry thanks to its orange silicone handle. Offering 3 levels of light intensity, it can be placed on a piece of furniture or on the floor. This small ambient lamp is ideal for use in a lounge or hallway, or even as a night light in your bedroom, and is perfect to create a soft mood lighting around a table at dinner time. This cordless LED lamp with integrated battery is recharged by Micro USB-C cable included (battery life: up to 6 hours). The In Vitro Unplugged cordless lamp comes in a superb colour palette.
