Technological innovation, materials research and sustainability come together harmoniously in the Illan project. This pendant’s lampshade is totally flexible: it consists of a multitude of ultra-thin, flexible wooden rings, suspended in space. This lightweight body is made of laser-cut plywood. Once suspended from the ceiling, the shape unfolds and grows in size thanks to the force of gravity. The highly decorative and emotional impact expressed by the clever, original use of materials makes it a truly special lamp. The Illan pendant is an extraordinary blend of natural and modern. The thin plywood slats draw beautiful geometric patterns and form a real wooden lacework. The ethereal structure plays with transparency and light like vegetation would do in nature. The perforated material gives rise to wonderful shadow projections on walls and ceiling. Illan uses a minimum amount of material for an exceptional effect. The number of components used has been reduced to a minimum and the manufacturing process promotes a low impact on the environment. In order to reduce packaging, this pendant is delivered flat. It’s made of wood from sustainably managed plantations (FSC-certified). The LED light source creates diffuse lighting that’s very comfortable and relaxing. In Hungarian, "Illan" suggests something temporary and fleeting whose beauty must be captured immediately without being distracted by the frantic pace of everyday life.
