"Light, sculpture & heritage. Marriage between modern objects and artwork inspired by the High Renaissance, this wall light is reminiscent of Tondo Doni and will cast a soft light over any space. Combining light and art, Il Divino reveals a sculpture boasting an immortal presence. Inspired by the famous Dying Slave sculpture by Michelangelo, designers Rachel and Benoît Convers emphasise the delicate nature of marble with light, organic touches and subtly offset details. Creating a dialogue between the unchanging and the ephemeral, this stone body slowly taken over by vegetation will adorn your interior with its timeless and mysterious presence. This inspiring, classic scene plays on the genre and shines with a poetic halo. The painting is printed onto fabric, enabling the even diffusion of the light, whilst the disc it is applied onto is made from Dibond, a stable and rigid aluminium. Both a piece of art and a wall light, you can adjust the brightness of the LED lighting to accentuate the finesse of the strokes embodying Il Divino's style. The dimmer is located at the bottom of the disc. Half-way between art and design, the Il Divino wall light creates a dialogue between marble and light: the unchanging and the ephemeral. The poetry of the living being is intertwined with large, timeless figures to whisper into their ears tales of fragility. This illuminated piece shifts between force and transience with a slight dizziness. This wall light has a fabric cable with a mains plug. Inspiration for the designers: From the Cour Puget and Cour Marly to the Salle des Cariatides, Rachel & Benoit Convers often wander through the Musée du Louvre. Rediscovering the palace-turned-museum during one of their trips to Paris, the collection of enchanting sculptures, dating back many centuries, has inspired them to work on a new creation in the image of "Light, Sculpture and Heritage". I love the Il Divino Wall Light for its bold, playful design that can add a pop of colour and personality to any space. Its mix of fabric and metal elements lends it a contemporary yet slightly quirky vibe, making it ideal for eclectic interiors or modern schemes that embrace a bit of fun. This wall light works particularly well in living areas, bedrooms, or creative workspaces where you want a statement piece that also provides practical illumination. For styling tips, consider pairing it with neutral walls to let it stand out, or combine it with other colourful accessories for a lively, curated look. It’s also quite versatile, so I’d recommend placing it at eye level or slightly above for maximum impact and functionality.
