I’m a fan of this wall-hung bedside for its clean lines and space-saving design - the hidden drawer and open shelf give you practical storage without the bulk of a freestanding unit. It works particularly well in contemporary, Scandi or Japandi schemes where minimalism is key, but can also add contrast in more industrial or loft-style bedrooms. For styling, keep the top surface clear apart from a slim reading lamp and a small vase or ceramic tray for your watch and glasses; on the lower shelf, tuck in a couple of well-edited books or a folded throw to keep everything organised and visually light.

In 1980, Chris Dawson set up a simple open-air market stall in Plymouth.
