Description

Made in the UK The Wooltex No.2 collection of mattresses from Hypnos are deeply upholstered with sumptuous, responsibly sourced fillings, including British wool and natural latex. Handmade by experts in Britain, these breathable fibres work alongside a patented ReActivePro™ pocket spring system. Together, this mattress offers unparalleled support and incredible luxury, so you enjoy a relaxing and restful night’s sleep. There are 1,200 springs in the king size model. Comfort with Integrity The pure British wool within this mattress comes from award-winning Waitrose farms, as well as British Red Tractor assured farms. Not only an ideal fibre for mattresses thanks to its natural temperature-regulating properties, it’s also fully traceable as part of Hypnos’ commitment to responsible and ethical manufacturing. Hypnos has been part of the Woolkeepers® initiative since 2019, which guarantees a fair deal for the farmers and enables them to reinvest in native breeds, their soil and biodiversity. These farms are assured by Red Tractor, the UK’s biggest farm and food standards scheme which covers the full farm supply chain, including animal welfare, traceability and environmental protection. Natural latex layer This cushioning layer is made from responsibly sourced natural latex, which has resilient buoyancy and aids airflow through your mattress, keeping your sleep space cool and breathable. The combination of natural wool and latex enhances a supremely comfortable and luxurious feel. ReActivePro™ pocket spring technology The pocket springs in this mattress provide total support as they follow the contours of your body, encourage a natural alignment of the spine and alleviate pressure points. They also encourage airflow to circulate throughout the mattress, providing ventilation to the fillings while keeping your mattress fresh and dry. The ReActivePro™ pocket spring system is specially engineered at a slightly higher tension at the bed edge so they provide more support when needed. Integrated pillow top layer For even more luxury, the pillow top layer provides extra comfort. It’s plump, hand-tufted and encourages you to sink gently into the mattress. Chemical free cover This mattress features a luxurious, unbleached cotton and linen blend cover that’s free from traditional chemical flame retardant treatments. It’s also naturally fire retardant. Try before you buy This is an important purchase and it’s worthwhile to try your choice of mattress in one of our shops to make sure it's right for you. Our store Partners will be able to tell you more about its benefits, and recommend options based on your needs.

About John Lewis

Founded in 1864, John Lewis is a trusted and beloved brand where you can find a diverse range of furniture for every style and budget, alongside finding the perfect item that reflects your personal taste.

A Legacy of Innovation and Inclusion

John Lewis started as a small shop on London's Oxford Street in 1864. Today, it's part of a bigger family called the John Lewis Partnership, which also includes Waitrose stores.

What makes them special is that they're owned by their employees, known as 'Partners'. The idea, from the beginning, was to give everyone a say in how the business was run. With over 74,000 Partners (employees) at the heart of its operations, the essence of John Lewis's vision, from over a century ago, still echoes today being the largest employee-owned venture.

Adapting to Changing Times

Like many stores, John Lewis has had to change with the times. They've closed some shops but have grown their online business a lot, especially when more people started shopping online during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Their history is filled with key moments, like buying Peter Jones in 1905, adding Waitrose in 1937, and starting their website in 2001. They've always tried to adapt and stay relevant.

Commitment to a Greater Purpose

John Lewis believes in doing good and making the world a better place. This is seen in the way they treat their employees and customers. For example, in 2021, they were the first big UK store to give parents six months paid leave when they have a baby and two weeks paid leave if they lose a pregnancy. They've been around for over a century and always aim to do the right thing by everyone.
