Description

Made in the UK The Hideaway™ divan base from Hypnos provides significant storage space thanks to a large, open storage cavity placed on either side of the frame. Designed with a non-sprung, wooden platform top that provides a firmer foundation for your mattress, this robust base is upholstered in a soft fabric for a premium finish. Impressive hidden storage The easy-to-access storage compartments in this base each offer double the capacity of two standard drawers. They glide open fully with a convenient pull handle and their high-quality timber construction can accommodate heavier and larger sized items such as suitcases and boxes. Upholstered finish All storage areas are concealed behind deep valances, which cover the full height of the divan base. This lends a smart and versatile look and ensures easy access to your stored items. A compatible headboard can be purchased separately. Want to see it first? You may want to see and get a feel for the furniture in one of our shops before ordering. We'll be able to tell you where the range you'd like to view is on display.

Our Stylist Says

This bed base is a versatile choice that works well in contemporary and more classic interiors alike. I love the added storage option, which makes it perfect for bedrooms where space is at a premium, helping keep clutter at bay. The upholstery in Imperio Grey gives it a sleek, sophisticated look-easy to coordinate with a range of colour schemes and bedding styles. When styling, consider pairing it with neutral or muted tones for a calming, elegant feel, or mix with bold accents for a more eclectic look. Practical tips include dressing it with a tailored bed skirt or box-pleat bedding to conceal the storage compartments, or layering with textured throws and cushions for extra comfort and visual interest. This base offers both practicality and style, making it a solid foundation for many interior themes.

About John Lewis

Founded in 1864, John Lewis is a trusted and beloved brand where you can find a diverse range of furniture for every style and budget, alongside finding the perfect item that reflects your personal taste.

A Legacy of Innovation and Inclusion

John Lewis started as a small shop on London's Oxford Street in 1864. Today, it's part of a bigger family called the John Lewis Partnership, which also includes Waitrose stores.

What makes them special is that they're owned by their employees, known as 'Partners'. The idea, from the beginning, was to give everyone a say in how the business was run. With over 74,000 Partners (employees) at the heart of its operations, the essence of John Lewis's vision, from over a century ago, still echoes today being the largest employee-owned venture.

Adapting to Changing Times

Like many stores, John Lewis has had to change with the times. They've closed some shops but have grown their online business a lot, especially when more people started shopping online during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Their history is filled with key moments, like buying Peter Jones in 1905, adding Waitrose in 1937, and starting their website in 2001. They've always tried to adapt and stay relevant.

Commitment to a Greater Purpose

John Lewis believes in doing good and making the world a better place. This is seen in the way they treat their employees and customers. For example, in 2021, they were the first big UK store to give parents six months paid leave when they have a baby and two weeks paid leave if they lose a pregnancy. They've been around for over a century and always aim to do the right thing by everyone.
