The Hykenham wallpaper is a classic Sanderson floral from the talented hand of Kenneth Truman, produced for the first time as a wallpaper. Truman joined Sanderson in 1939 bringing an astonishing aptitude for botanical drawing. He influenced the look and quality of floral artwork created at Sanderson’s Uxbridge studio for more than three decades. Shown here in a high sea blue and ginger orange colourway. This wallpaper is perfect for a feature wall in your bedroom and office, or perhaps used to paper an entire dining room or living room. This wallpaper is part of the One Sixty wallpapers collection. Application Method: paste the wall then apply. Pattern match: straight match. Vertical pattern repeat: 64.1cm. This wallpaper is a wide-width wallpaper and you will require less rolls than a standard width wallpaper to decorate your room. Please consult a professional decorator for estimating.
I love the Hykenham wallpaper for its bold floral pattern and lively colour palette, which can really lift a space. While it's technically a rug, its design lends itself well to areas where you want to introduce a touch of botanical charm - think hallways, feature walls in living rooms, or even a statement behind a sofa. For styling, keep surrounding decor fairly minimal to let the pattern stand out, and pair with neutral furnishings to balance the vibrancy. It works particularly well in vintage-inspired or eclectic interiors, but can also bring a fresh, modern edge when contrasted with sleek, contemporary furniture. Just ensure it’s placed on a smooth surface for best visual effect, and consider using a non-slip underlay for practicality.
