Close your eyes for a moment and imagine the mysterious atmosphere of a hut where people come to settle down nonchalantly amid large, soft cushions. They relax, they talk, they laugh, life’s good: Hut creates precisely that vibe. With Hut, Ethimo and designer Marco Lavit create a daybed that looks like a cosy nest, suitable for a natural context as much as an urban one. Halfway between a refuge, a cabin and a teepee, Hut is a disconnected place of healing that lets you meet up, meditate. The prototype of Hut was presented in September 2019 at Paris Design Week where it caused a sensation and proved a resounding success, notably winning the Design Award Archiproducts 2020. This spectacular wooden alcove is a refuge where you can relax, meditate, read or work, alone or with others. This daybed is a real object of conviviality. It's up to you to decide how you’ll settle down on it: lying, sitting or leaning, anything is possible. Hut consists of a round base 3 metres in diameter and a 3. 20-metre-high structure, made of Siberian larch slats, which form a kind of teepee and allow glimpses of the surrounding environment. The airy structure plays with transparency, shade and light, as trees and reeds do in nature. The diameter of the seat (270 cm) can accommodate several guests. The Siberian larch is an FSC-certified wood with extraordinary qualities, perfect for resisting the outdoors and preserving its natural beauty over time. Mobile and adaptable, Hut does not have a ground tie-down system. You can customise Hut with various optional accessories (sold separately): a round mattress for optimal comfort and a curtain that lets you "close the nest", protecting it from direct sunlight. Hut is an exceptional piece of furniture that’s just as well suited to individuals as to urban and collective spaces (bars, hotels etc). It lets you isolate yourself on a beach, in a garden as well as in the city. For a long time, I've been designing places of healing, disconnected from the world, which allow you to meet up again.
