Description

Designed for us in two exclusive fabrics, the Liberty office chair by Humanscale provides responsive lumbar support for every user. This contract standard model has a mechanism-free recline that automatically provides the right amount of support, whatever your seating position. And, with form-sensing mesh technology in the back rest, you'll be able to sit comfortably during long days at the desk, without having to make manual adjustments. The armrests are also connected to the back instead of the seat, so they'll stay with you as you recline. Protect your floor While this chair is suitable for the flooring specified, we suggest using floor pads or mats where possible, for added protection to your flooring and furniture. Humanscale's range of intuitive work tools are designed to be used together to form the ultimate workstation. Combining ergonomic expertise with innovative design, their products adjust to the user, making work more comfortable and complementing any work style. A fully ergonomic workstation promotes healthy posture and lowers the risk of injury. Want to see it first? You may want to see and get a feel for the furniture in one of our shops before ordering. We'll be able to tell you where the range you'd like to view is on display.

Our Stylist Says

The Humanscale Liberty chair is a sleek, contemporary piece that balances functionality with minimalist style, making it a versatile choice for modern offices or smart home setups. Its clean lines and lightweight silhouette work well in pared-back, uncluttered interiors, but it can also add a touch of modern sophistication to more traditional spaces when paired with softer textures or colour accents. When styling, consider mixing it with natural materials like wood or soft textiles to create a balance between comfort and contemporary elegance. Practical tips include positioning it near a statement desk or backdrop with minimal visual noise to highlight its design, or contrasting it with textured rugs and cushions to soften its technical appearance for a more inviting workspace.

About John Lewis

Founded in 1864, John Lewis is a trusted and beloved brand where you can find a diverse range of furniture for every style and budget, alongside finding the perfect item that reflects your personal taste.

A Legacy of Innovation and Inclusion

John Lewis started as a small shop on London's Oxford Street in 1864. Today, it's part of a bigger family called the John Lewis Partnership, which also includes Waitrose stores.

What makes them special is that they're owned by their employees, known as 'Partners'. The idea, from the beginning, was to give everyone a say in how the business was run. With over 74,000 Partners (employees) at the heart of its operations, the essence of John Lewis's vision, from over a century ago, still echoes today being the largest employee-owned venture.

Adapting to Changing Times

Like many stores, John Lewis has had to change with the times. They've closed some shops but have grown their online business a lot, especially when more people started shopping online during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Their history is filled with key moments, like buying Peter Jones in 1905, adding Waitrose in 1937, and starting their website in 2001. They've always tried to adapt and stay relevant.

Commitment to a Greater Purpose

John Lewis believes in doing good and making the world a better place. This is seen in the way they treat their employees and customers. For example, in 2021, they were the first big UK store to give parents six months paid leave when they have a baby and two weeks paid leave if they lose a pregnancy. They've been around for over a century and always aim to do the right thing by everyone.
