Description

The Diffrient World Task office chair from Humanscale provides ergonomic support and comfort, in an innovative design that fuses functionality and style. Created by industrial designer Niels Diffrient, Camira is upholstered in two exclusive fabrics. This model is contract standard. Made from high-quality materials, its mesh backrest is designed with a weight-sensitive recline mechanism. It will automatically adjust to support each user at every recline position, moving with you to provide balanced, lumbar support throughout the working day. The tri-panel, non-stretch mesh removes the need for external lumbar support devices or manual controls, offering a flexible and comfortable feel. It also offers a full range of recline and adjust options, including the seat height, depth and armrest height. Each component is designed to work in tandem, for a completely smooth experience. Its sturdy metal base and castors allow you to glide easily across the room, without leaving marks on your flooring. Protect your floor While this chair is suitable for the flooring specified, we suggest using floor pads or mats where possible, for added protection to your flooring and furniture. Want to see it first? You may want to see and get a feel for the furniture in one of our shops before ordering. We'll be able to tell you where the range you'd like to view is on display.

Our Stylist Says

I love this chair for its sleek, minimalist design that combines practicality with modern aesthetic. The mesh back adds a light, breathable feel, making it suitable for contemporary interiors, especially in home offices or open-plan workspaces. It’s versatile enough to slot into both neutral and more colour-rich environments, and its understated style pairs well with everything from Scandinavian minimalism to industrial finishes. For styling tips, keep accessories and surrounds simple, allowing the chair’s clean lines to stand out. To add a touch of personality, consider pairing it with colourful cushions or ergonomic accessories that complement your workspace, ensuring it remains both functional and visually appealing.

About John Lewis

Founded in 1864, John Lewis is a trusted and beloved brand where you can find a diverse range of furniture for every style and budget, alongside finding the perfect item that reflects your personal taste.

A Legacy of Innovation and Inclusion

John Lewis started as a small shop on London's Oxford Street in 1864. Today, it's part of a bigger family called the John Lewis Partnership, which also includes Waitrose stores.

What makes them special is that they're owned by their employees, known as 'Partners'. The idea, from the beginning, was to give everyone a say in how the business was run. With over 74,000 Partners (employees) at the heart of its operations, the essence of John Lewis's vision, from over a century ago, still echoes today being the largest employee-owned venture.

Adapting to Changing Times

Like many stores, John Lewis has had to change with the times. They've closed some shops but have grown their online business a lot, especially when more people started shopping online during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Their history is filled with key moments, like buying Peter Jones in 1905, adding Waitrose in 1937, and starting their website in 2001. They've always tried to adapt and stay relevant.

Commitment to a Greater Purpose

John Lewis believes in doing good and making the world a better place. This is seen in the way they treat their employees and customers. For example, in 2021, they were the first big UK store to give parents six months paid leave when they have a baby and two weeks paid leave if they lose a pregnancy. They've been around for over a century and always aim to do the right thing by everyone.
