Description

The Hopkins 8 seater oak veneer dining table is a generously proportioned, contemporary design with a clean silhouette and a beautiful, pure grain. The large table is perfectly suited to modern family life – use it for eating, homework and board games – and can be dressed up or down to suit the occasion. Protected by a clear lacquer, the table is made in the Czech Republic and requires simple self assembly, combine it with the matching Hopkins bench or any of our oak chair designs.

Our Stylist Says

This table is a versatile and robust piece that works well in both modern and rustic interiors. Its natural oak veneer finish brings warmth and texture, making it a great centrepiece for casual family dinners or more formal occasions. I love how its clean, simple lines allow it to sit seamlessly in contemporary spaces, while its substantial build offers a tactile, inviting feel. Practical styling tips include pairing it with a mix of upholstered and wooden chairs for a layered look, and accessorising with minimalist tableware or bold centrepieces to keep the focus on its beautiful natural grain. It's ideal for larger open-plan dining areas, but can also adapt to smaller spaces with smart seating choices.

About Habitat

Founded in 1964, Habitat are a renowned brand, and a go-to destination for modern and stylish furniture and home accessories.

The Birth of Habitat

In 1964, Sir Terence Conran founded Habitat in London, aiming to bring a fresh European touch to UK home decor.

The first store, located on Fulham Road in Chelsea, became the blueprint for all Habitat stores to come. The store stood out with its distinct design, and was famously known for selling affordable pasta storage jars just as the pasta market began booming in the UK.

Rapid Expansion & Legacy

Habitat grew swiftly in the UK during the 1960s and even crossed borders with its first international store in Paris in 1973.

The brand's journey through the decades saw various mergers and acquisitions, including its integration with Sainsbury's Group in 2017.

Habitat's innovation extended beyond products; they even launched a mail-order system in 1966 and initiated the concept of flat-pack furniture in 1971.

Celebrating its rich history, the brand marked its 50th anniversary in 2014 by collaborating with past designers and commissioning a special logo.

Innovation & Collaboration

Habitat has always been at the forefront of modern design. Throughout its history, the brand has been renowned for its collaborations with acclaimed artists and designers, ensuring it consistently offers unique, limited-edition collections.

Under the umbrella of the Sainsbury's Group since 2017, Habitat continues its tradition of merging contemporary aesthetics with functional design, solidifying its reputation as a leading name in home furnishings.
