I’m a big fan of this grey wood-effect chest with open shelves because it combines clean lines with practical storage - the drawers keep clutter out of sight, while the shelves are ideal for display or baskets. Its neutral tone and slim frame suit contemporary, Scandi or light-industrial schemes and it’ll slot neatly into a hallway, home office or bedroom. For styling, mix woven bins on the lower shelves with a stack of books and a small plant above; on the top surface, a simple table lamp, a framed print or a decorative bowl brings personality without overwhelming the piece. Keep colour accents to two or three shades to maintain a calm, organised look.

Humble Beginnings
In 1980, Chris Dawson set up a simple open-air market stall in Plymouth. By 1989, this entrepreneurial spirit led to the opening of the very first physical store on Billacombe Road, originally named "C.D.S. Superstores". However, in the early '90s, a rebranding took place, introducing "The Range" to the world.
Today, with a whopping 200+ stores across the UK, The Range boasts an impressive selection of over 65,000 products, spreading across 16 diverse departments, all dedicated to enhancing homes and lifestyles.
A Visionary Leader
Chris Dawson, the brain behind The Range, held the CEO position from 1989 to 2017. With a flair for business, Chris's achievements haven't gone unnoticed. He was even ranked fifth in a survey of Britain's Top 100 Entrepreneurs.
Under his leadership, The Range has not only thrived locally but has also hinted at European expansion dreams, envisioning a staggering 1,000 stores across the continent.
