The drop-shaped Hobo lamp by Örsjö Belysning is made of opaque blown glass and rough-finish brass. The pendant was designed by Gustaf Nordensiöld and was inspired by the original glassworks in Småland in southern Sweden, where the homeless slept in the warm glass studios, creating objects from bent metal wire and other leftover materials. The bulging shape is created with the expansion of the hot glass, filling the wire caging.
The small Hobo pendant adds a sleek, minimalist touch to both modern and Scandinavian-inspired interiors. I love how its simple shape and subtle brass details bring warmth without overpowering a space. It works especially well in kitchens, dining areas, or cosy corners where you want focused task lighting with a touch of elegance. To style it effectively, consider grouping a few above a kitchen island or dining table for visual interest, or hang it individually over a desk or reading nook for a clean look. Its compact size makes it versatile, fitting beautifully into smaller spaces or low ceilings, while still making a statement.
