Description

Blackwork, a counted thread technique, traditionally worked in black thread on white fabric and often worked in multiple or single colours, originated in Spain and was brought to England by Catherine of Aragon when she married Prince Arthur. Made from 144 thread count organic cotton, the all-natural fabric helps keep you cool and comfortable throughout the night. Please note that duvet covers and pillowcases are sold individually and not in sets. Have you thought about sheeting? Shop. Our core philosophy is that resting better grants us the agility of body and mind to live, and be better at all that we do. Himêya is more than a bedding and bath brand – it is a lifestyle that reminds us to remain grounded, to cherish and respect each other, and our planet. The soul and spirit of Himêya is about living with less, to find more; to discover balance in our everyday. Making different choices each day takes confidence; yet what gives an idea language and dimension is resonance. Our well-crafted products use only the finest, geo-tagged cotton, spun and woven with the utmost care and finished with natural finishes. From our zero-waste processes to our sustainable packaging, we are committed to conscious products created without compromise, that are kinder to Earth. Made in India with universal appeal, the collection imbibes nuanced textures, earthy hues and patterns inspired by organic forms. Our process respects the purity and beauty of every fibre involved.

Our Stylist Says

I love this blackwork bedding for its bold, graphic pattern, which adds a modern touch to both minimal and eclectic interiors. It works particularly well in contemporary bedrooms, especially when paired with neutral or monochrome colour schemes, but can also complement a bohemian or coastal look with layered textures and soft, muted accessories. Practical styling tips include keeping the rest of the bed simple-think understated pillows and throws-to let the pattern take centre stage. Layering with a textured throw or adding a few contrasting cushions can elevate the overall look without competing with the bold design. This bedding set is a versatile piece that brings a chic, on-trend vibe to any space.

About John Lewis

Founded in 1864, John Lewis is a trusted and beloved brand where you can find a diverse range of furniture for every style and budget, alongside finding the perfect item that reflects your personal taste.

A Legacy of Innovation and Inclusion

John Lewis started as a small shop on London's Oxford Street in 1864. Today, it's part of a bigger family called the John Lewis Partnership, which also includes Waitrose stores.

What makes them special is that they're owned by their employees, known as 'Partners'. The idea, from the beginning, was to give everyone a say in how the business was run. With over 74,000 Partners (employees) at the heart of its operations, the essence of John Lewis's vision, from over a century ago, still echoes today being the largest employee-owned venture.

Adapting to Changing Times

Like many stores, John Lewis has had to change with the times. They've closed some shops but have grown their online business a lot, especially when more people started shopping online during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Their history is filled with key moments, like buying Peter Jones in 1905, adding Waitrose in 1937, and starting their website in 2001. They've always tried to adapt and stay relevant.

Commitment to a Greater Purpose

John Lewis believes in doing good and making the world a better place. This is seen in the way they treat their employees and customers. For example, in 2021, they were the first big UK store to give parents six months paid leave when they have a baby and two weeks paid leave if they lose a pregnancy. They've been around for over a century and always aim to do the right thing by everyone.
