Designed by Gam Fratesi for GUBI, the high-backed Bat Lounge Chair embodies a perfect balance between craft, simplicity and functionalism. The chair's clean design is achieved with a fully moulded seat and armrest in one fluid piece, offering both sophistication and comfort. Carrying strong references to the interesting characteristics of bats, the seat is mounted on either a refined brass or black base, upholstered in a wide selection of fabrics, from velvets to cotton blends. Founded in 2006 by architects Stine Gam and Enrico Fratesi, the award-winning Copenhagen-based design house takes its creative drive from a fusion of tradition and renewal, drawing on both designers' experiences of Danish and Italian craft traditions. Renowned for applying an experimental approach to every project, Gam Fratesi awards each design with a visible historical context and unique, fresh aesthetic.
