I’m a fan of this wood-and-iron hall table for its straightforward lines and light oak top set on a black metal frame. It suits narrow hallways, contemporary flats or Scandi-inspired living rooms, and its slim depth makes the most of tight spaces without feeling overbearing.

In 1980, Chris Dawson set up a simple open-air market stall in Plymouth.
