Description

Designed by Berlin-based design team Studio 7.5, the High Back Cosm office chair from Herman Miller provides a new experience of comfort for your work space. Highly functional and carefully sculpted for an ergonomic experience, this chair responds instantly to your body and movements and provides a feeling of natural balance, no matter how you sit. This model is designed with adjustable armrests. Auto-Harmonic™ Tilt An automatic tilt mechanism in the mesh backrest means that the chair always supports you as you move while you work. This creates a feeling of natural balance and helps to support a healthy posture. Flexible and breathable mesh The mesh used to create the seat and backrest is robust, breathable and temperature neutral. It also ensures a continuous form of suspension as it conforms to each user's body type and weight. This means that there's no need to repeatedly make adjustments while you work. Easy to adjust To get you through the working day, this chair can be adjusted to your exact requirements. The height-adjustable armrests help to support your posture and also make it easy to tuck the chair in at the end of the day. The swivel seat is also height-adjustable. Protect your floor For added protection to your floor and furniture, we recommend using floor pads or mats where possible. Want to see it first? You may want to see and get a feel for the furniture in one of our shops before ordering. We'll be able to tell you where the range you'd like to view is on display.

Our Stylist Says

This chair is a fantastic choice for creating a sleek, modern workspace. I love how its high back and ergonomic design offer both support and comfort, making it ideal for long working hours. Its minimalist aesthetic blends well with contemporary interiors, whether in a home office or a professional setting. To style around it, consider pairing with streamlined desks and neutral tones to highlight its clean lines. I’d suggest adding texture with soft accessories like a cosy throw or a textured rug to soften the overall look and make the space more inviting. Practical tip: the neutral colour makes it versatile enough to swap out accessories and adapt to different colour schemes over time.

About John Lewis

Founded in 1864, John Lewis is a trusted and beloved brand where you can find a diverse range of furniture for every style and budget, alongside finding the perfect item that reflects your personal taste.

A Legacy of Innovation and Inclusion

John Lewis started as a small shop on London's Oxford Street in 1864. Today, it's part of a bigger family called the John Lewis Partnership, which also includes Waitrose stores.

What makes them special is that they're owned by their employees, known as 'Partners'. The idea, from the beginning, was to give everyone a say in how the business was run. With over 74,000 Partners (employees) at the heart of its operations, the essence of John Lewis's vision, from over a century ago, still echoes today being the largest employee-owned venture.

Adapting to Changing Times

Like many stores, John Lewis has had to change with the times. They've closed some shops but have grown their online business a lot, especially when more people started shopping online during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Their history is filled with key moments, like buying Peter Jones in 1905, adding Waitrose in 1937, and starting their website in 2001. They've always tried to adapt and stay relevant.

Commitment to a Greater Purpose

John Lewis believes in doing good and making the world a better place. This is seen in the way they treat their employees and customers. For example, in 2021, they were the first big UK store to give parents six months paid leave when they have a baby and two weeks paid leave if they lose a pregnancy. They've been around for over a century and always aim to do the right thing by everyone.
