Description

Herman Miller's Aeron office chair is designed to meet the needs of today's work, workers and work environments. Co-designed with industrial designer Don Chadwick, and using the latest research around the science of sitting, this innovative and ergonomic chair fully accommodates the widest possible range of activities and postures people adopt while working. The chair back and seat are linked, and tilt simultaneously at different ratios as you lean back to provide responsive support for your lower back. It's also easily adjustable, from intense forward-facing focus to a more relaxed, contemplative recline. Health-positive and cross-performing design Aeron’s innovative 8. Z Pellicle suspension mesh material on the backrest allows air, body heat and water vapour to pass through the seat and back for enhanced and comfortable temperature regulation. The backrest is also designed with eight zones of varying tensions to deliver increased comfort and ergonomic support. Posture Fit SL works with the frame and the 8. Z Pellicle to support the sacrum and lumbar region of the spine to keep you strong while you sit. Adjustable to suit your needs A forward shift in the frame encourages you to sit with a more natural seated posture. The height adjustable seat means you can keep your feet flat on the floor to support your lower back and the chair back can tilt to a position that's comfortable for you. The height and width adjustable arms also reduce muscular effort in your neck and shoulders to minimise pain. Protect your floor While this chair is suitable for the flooring specified, we suggest using floor pads or mats where possible, for added protection to your flooring and furniture. Our Stylist Says

The Herman Miller Aeron is a classic choice for those who want both comfort and a sleek aesthetic. I love how its modern, minimalist design and polished aluminium details make it versatile enough to fit in contemporary and high-tech office interiors, as well as more pared-back or industrial spaces. It works particularly well in environments that blend functionality with style, such as home offices or professional settings that aim for a clean, uncluttered look. Practical styling tips include pairing it with a minimalist desk and complementary neutral accessories, as well as contrasting it with warm wood or textured textiles to soften the overall space. Its ergonomic design not only promotes good posture but also adds a sense of professional sophistication, making it a smart investment for any stylish workspace.

About John Lewis

Founded in 1864, John Lewis is a trusted and beloved brand where you can find a diverse range of furniture for every style and budget, alongside finding the perfect item that reflects your personal taste.

A Legacy of Innovation and Inclusion

John Lewis started as a small shop on London's Oxford Street in 1864. Today, it's part of a bigger family called the John Lewis Partnership, which also includes Waitrose stores.

What makes them special is that they're owned by their employees, known as 'Partners'. The idea, from the beginning, was to give everyone a say in how the business was run. With over 74,000 Partners (employees) at the heart of its operations, the essence of John Lewis's vision, from over a century ago, still echoes today being the largest employee-owned venture.

Adapting to Changing Times

Like many stores, John Lewis has had to change with the times. They've closed some shops but have grown their online business a lot, especially when more people started shopping online during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Their history is filled with key moments, like buying Peter Jones in 1905, adding Waitrose in 1937, and starting their website in 2001. They've always tried to adapt and stay relevant.

Commitment to a Greater Purpose

John Lewis believes in doing good and making the world a better place. This is seen in the way they treat their employees and customers. For example, in 2021, they were the first big UK store to give parents six months paid leave when they have a baby and two weeks paid leave if they lose a pregnancy. They've been around for over a century and always aim to do the right thing by everyone.
