Description

With clean lines and sumptuous proportions, it’s no surprise our Hendricks sofa is a bestseller. Inspired by mid-century design and created in the Habitat design studio. Made in England, this sofa is upholstered in our linen-look fabric. It is hard-wearing with an easy-care finish that is perfect for all families and occasions. Removable frame covers ensure easy cleaning, although we do recommend professional cleaning to avoid colour variation. Part of the Hendricks range and available in a choice of fabrics and leathers in a variety of colours and sizes.

Our Stylist Says

I really like this armchair because of its versatile charcoal fabric, which works well in both contemporary and more classic interiors. Its compact size makes it ideal for snug living rooms or home offices, while the neutral tone ensures it can be paired with a variety of colour palettes. To style it effectively, consider adding a textured cushion or a cosy throw in contrasting colours like mustard or blush to add some personality. It also pairs well with wooden or metal side tables to create an inviting, lived-in feel. Overall, it’s a practical yet stylish choice that can anchor a seating area without overwhelming the space.

About Habitat

Founded in 1964, Habitat are a renowned brand, and a go-to destination for modern and stylish furniture and home accessories.

The Birth of Habitat

In 1964, Sir Terence Conran founded Habitat in London, aiming to bring a fresh European touch to UK home decor.

The first store, located on Fulham Road in Chelsea, became the blueprint for all Habitat stores to come. The store stood out with its distinct design, and was famously known for selling affordable pasta storage jars just as the pasta market began booming in the UK.

Rapid Expansion & Legacy

Habitat grew swiftly in the UK during the 1960s and even crossed borders with its first international store in Paris in 1973.

The brand's journey through the decades saw various mergers and acquisitions, including its integration with Sainsbury's Group in 2017.

Habitat's innovation extended beyond products; they even launched a mail-order system in 1966 and initiated the concept of flat-pack furniture in 1971.

Celebrating its rich history, the brand marked its 50th anniversary in 2014 by collaborating with past designers and commissioning a special logo.

Innovation & Collaboration

Habitat has always been at the forefront of modern design. Throughout its history, the brand has been renowned for its collaborations with acclaimed artists and designers, ensuring it consistently offers unique, limited-edition collections.

Under the umbrella of the Sainsbury's Group since 2017, Habitat continues its tradition of merging contemporary aesthetics with functional design, solidifying its reputation as a leading name in home furnishings.
