Description
With clean lines and sumptuous proportions, it’s no surprise our Hendricks sofa is a bestseller. Inspired by mid-century design and created in the Habitat design studio. Made in Italy, this sofa is upholstered in our Alba fabric - Perfect for busy homes, this 100% polyester fabric is soft yet extremely hardwearing with an easy-care finish to aid the removal of water-based stains.. Removable frame covers ensure easy cleaning, although we do recommend professional cleaning to avoid colour variation.
Our Stylist Says
I love this teal sofa for its vibrant yet versatile colour, which can serve as a statement piece in both modern and eclectic interiors. Its right-hand chaise design offers practical lounging space, making it perfect for open-plan living rooms or family areas. To style it effectively, consider pairing with neutral or soft-toned cushions to soften the bold hue, or add patterned accessories for visual contrast. It works well in contemporary, minimalist, or even mid-century interiors, especially when paired with sleek wood finishes or metallic accents. For a balanced look, keep surrounding decor understated to let the sofa be the focal point, and consider placing it near natural light to enhance its lively colour.

The Birth of Habitat
In 1964, Sir Terence Conran founded Habitat in London, aiming to bring a fresh European touch to UK home decor.
The first store, located on Fulham Road in Chelsea, became the blueprint for all Habitat stores to come. The store stood out with its distinct design, and was famously known for selling affordable pasta storage jars just as the pasta market began booming in the UK.
Rapid Expansion & Legacy
Habitat grew swiftly in the UK during the 1960s and even crossed borders with its first international store in Paris in 1973.
The brand's journey through the decades saw various mergers and acquisitions, including its integration with Sainsbury's Group in 2017.
Habitat's innovation extended beyond products; they even launched a mail-order system in 1966 and initiated the concept of flat-pack furniture in 1971.
Celebrating its rich history, the brand marked its 50th anniversary in 2014 by collaborating with past designers and commissioning a special logo.
Innovation & Collaboration
Habitat has always been at the forefront of modern design. Throughout its history, the brand has been renowned for its collaborations with acclaimed artists and designers, ensuring it consistently offers unique, limited-edition collections.
Under the umbrella of the Sainsbury's Group since 2017, Habitat continues its tradition of merging contemporary aesthetics with functional design, solidifying its reputation as a leading name in home furnishings.
