With clean lines and sumptuous proportions, it’s no surprise our Hendricks sofa is a bestseller. Inspired by mid-century design and created in the Habitat design studio. Made in Italy, this sofa is upholstered in our Aquaclean Mystic velvet - With a brushed fabric feel, this family-friendly micro pile velvet has been treated to prevent stains. Simply use water to wipe away spillages. Removable frame covers ensure easy cleaning, although we do recommend professional cleaning to avoid colour variation. Part of the Hendricks range and available in a choice of fabrics and leathers in a variety of colours and sizes.
Our Stylist Says
I love this Hendricks 4-seater in charcoal grey velvet - it’s a versatile statement piece that works well in both modern and retro-inspired interiors. The plush velvet adds a touch of luxury without feeling overly formal, making it perfect for relaxed living spaces or contemporary schemes. Its right-hand chaise configuration is ideal for creating cosy corners or open-plan lounges. For styling, consider pairing it with textured cushions or throws in contrasting shades to add visual interest, while minimalist metallic accents can elevate its sleek silhouette. This sofa's neutral tone provides a flexible backdrop, allowing you to easily introduce colourful accessories or keep a monochrome palette for a more sophisticated look.

The Birth of Habitat
In 1964, Sir Terence Conran founded Habitat in London, aiming to bring a fresh European touch to UK home decor.
The first store, located on Fulham Road in Chelsea, became the blueprint for all Habitat stores to come. The store stood out with its distinct design, and was famously known for selling affordable pasta storage jars just as the pasta market began booming in the UK.
Rapid Expansion & Legacy
Habitat grew swiftly in the UK during the 1960s and even crossed borders with its first international store in Paris in 1973.
The brand's journey through the decades saw various mergers and acquisitions, including its integration with Sainsbury's Group in 2017.
Habitat's innovation extended beyond products; they even launched a mail-order system in 1966 and initiated the concept of flat-pack furniture in 1971.
Celebrating its rich history, the brand marked its 50th anniversary in 2014 by collaborating with past designers and commissioning a special logo.
Innovation & Collaboration
Habitat has always been at the forefront of modern design. Throughout its history, the brand has been renowned for its collaborations with acclaimed artists and designers, ensuring it consistently offers unique, limited-edition collections.
Under the umbrella of the Sainsbury's Group since 2017, Habitat continues its tradition of merging contemporary aesthetics with functional design, solidifying its reputation as a leading name in home furnishings.
