Description

Design. If classic design with a modern touch is your preferred style, the Helmsley 2 Door Sliding Wardrobe in Urban Grey will update the look of your bedroom in an instant. The gorgeous soft grey can be placed with light or dark shades depending on the type of look you wish to go for, and the on-trend style is fully achieved thanks to the metal handles and a subtle striped pattern to the wood. The Urban Grey Helmsley 2 Door Sliding Wardrobe has an internal hanging rail, so its practicality matches its style effortlessly.

Our Stylist Says

I love the Helmsley wardrobe for its sleek, functional design that suits both contemporary and traditional interiors. Its urban grey finish offers a versatile, understated look that works particularly well in modern citiescapes or pared-back schemes. This piece is ideal for optimising space thanks to the sliding doors, making it perfect for smaller bedrooms or minimalist settings. For styling tips, keep the surrounding decor simple to let the wardrobe's colour and clean lines stand out - think neutral or monochrome palettes, with minimal hardware or accessories. Inside, utilise organisers or baskets to keep items tidy and maximise the internal space. Overall, it’s a practical yet stylish storage solution that can elevate a room without overwhelming it.

About Barker and Stonehouse

Founded in 1946, Barker and Stonehouse offer a diverse range of stylish and timeless pieces. From contemporary to traditional designs, Barker and Stonehouse brings sophistication and comfort to every room.

A Remarkable Journey

Born from the vision of two young RAF men, Charles Barker and Alex Stonehouse, Barker and Stonehouse emerged as a beacon of hope, infusing post-war Britain with a hint of glamour. Starting from a single store in Stockton on Tees, their entrepreneurial spirit led to rapid expansion, opening multiple stores across the region.

Their fast growth was fueled not only by their flair for business but also by their dedication to innovation. The business transformed over the years, adapting to the changing landscapes of retail, all while preserving its charm and values. By 2021, they marked an impressive 75 years in the industry, a testament to their enduring commitment to quality and customer service.

Sustainability at the Forefront

From the very start, Barker and Stonehouse has held a deep commitment to the environment. This devotion was showcased through initiatives such as the Trees4Trees Project, a reforestation effort in Indonesia.

Ensuring that for every tree used in their products, more than two were replanted, nearly 1.5 million trees have been restored under this initiative.

Their Knaresborough store, one of the greenest retail stores in the UK, further underscores their dedication to sustainable practices. As a cherry on top, by 2021, the company achieved the status of "Carbon Neutral Plus", making them a trailblazer in the furniture industry.

Innovative Spaces and Expanding Horizons

Over the decades, Barker and Stonehouse didn't just expand in number, but in the quality and innovation of their spaces. From opening their iconic store in Battersea, London, which beautifully preserved the characteristics of an old candle factory, to their latest state-of-the-art Gateshead store in 2023, every location tells a story.

They have also ventured into digital realms, ensuring a vast online presence and offering a wide range of products to customers all over the UK. Their partnerships, like the one with Fenwick in 2021, illustrate their adaptability and constant quest to reach new audiences.
