I’m a fan of the Vienna bench for its clean lines and the warmth of the smoked-oiled oak top paired with those slim black steel legs. It’s a versatile piece that works just as well in a pared-back Scandi hallway as it does in a modern industrial living room or a minimalist bedroom at the foot of the bed.
For styling, keep it simple: a slim runner or a folded throw in neutral tones softens the wood without masking its grain. Tuck a pair of woven baskets or low storage boxes underneath to keep shoes or magazines neatly out of sight. Add a sculptural vase with dried stems or a couple of textured cushions for contrast, and you’ve got a fuss-free yet polished look.

Heal's is a well-known British furniture store with a history that spans over 200 years. It began in 1810 when John Harris Heal and his son started a business for feather products but soon moved into furniture.
By the 1900s, almost everyone in London knew Heal's for its great furniture. Interestingly, they were also among the first to sell electric lights in Britain. During World War II, their main store even helped by making parachutes for soldiers.
