Meredith Frampton 1894–1984, was a British painter and etcher, successful as a portraitist in the 1920s–1940s. His artistic career was short and his output limited because his eyesight began to fail in the 1950s. In the foreground of ‘Nude with Flying Swans’painted by Frampton in 1919 a nude young woman is pursued by two swans, one white and one black. Her long golden hair is entwined around the neck of the white swan.
I love this candle for its calming, Nordic-inspired aesthetic that adds understated elegance to a variety of interiors. It works particularly well in minimalist, Scandi, or coastal schemes thanks to its soft colour palette and serene imagery. For practical styling, place it on open shelving or coffee tables alongside natural materials like light wood or linen textiles to enhance its fresh, airy feel. It’s also versatile enough to sit on a bedside table or in a bathroom to create a relaxing atmosphere. Just remember to pair it with other subtle accents for a cohesive look that’s both functional and visually calming.
