Victor Pasmore 1908–1998, was a British artist pioneering the development of abstract art in Britain in the 1940s and 1950s. The way natural elements are combined in ‘Square Motif, Blue and Gold: The Eclipse’ panted in 1950, could be seen to represent Pasmore’s emotions and ideas, rather than just an arrangement of shapes and patterns. Although he sought to create balanced compositions, he stressed that he wished to express human feelings, not abstract ideas.
I love this candle for its subtle, sophisticated scent of elderflower and lime, which adds a fresh, uplifting vibe without overpowering a space. It works beautifully in minimal or contemporary interiors, especially when paired with natural textures or muted colour palettes, as it brings in a touch of colour and warmth. Practical styling tip: display it on a simple tray alongside some books or a small plant to create an inviting vignette, or use it as a focal point on a coffee table or sideboard. Its clean, modern design makes it versatile enough to slot into various rooms-from living areas to bathrooms-adding a touch of understated elegance and a lovely scent to complement a relaxed or refined aesthetic.
