I’m a big fan of the Matera bench for its clean lines and muted shale-grey cotton upholstery - it feels both modern and timeless. The slim black metal legs give it a light appearance, making it ideal for hallways or at the end of a bed without overwhelming the space.
It suits minimalist, Scandi or contemporary interiors especially well. To style it, add a couple of small cushions in contrasting textures (think leather or boucle) and drape a lightweight wool throw over one end. In an entryway you can tuck low baskets underneath for shoes or storage, while in a living room it works perfectly alongside a low coffee table or beneath a long console.

Heal's is a well-known British furniture store with a history that spans over 200 years. It began in 1810 when John Harris Heal and his son started a business for feather products but soon moved into furniture.
By the 1900s, almost everyone in London knew Heal's for its great furniture. Interestingly, they were also among the first to sell electric lights in Britain. During World War II, their main store even helped by making parachutes for soldiers.
